Why is wireless problematic?

wireless connections available

When you set up a wireless connection, your computer shows you what connections are available. In this case, one of the households in the area has an unsecured network!

Anyone could use this connection and run them up a few bills. They are also in danger of getting their computers hacked.

Wireless is different to a wire, because all the data travels over the air and anyone with a receiver can pick up the signals. This is why your computer will show you your neighbours' networks as being available. If they are "security-enabled", then you will not be able to connect to them.
